  The international Colloquium „Biology of the Soricidae IV” is the continuation of presumably the most important and fruitful conference series for shrew research. The previous three meetings took place in Powdermill (USA) in 1990 and 2002, and Syktyvkar (Russia) in 2010. About 50 shrew specialists participated in each of them. The presented results and topics were widely disseminated in the two valuable and well-cited Proceedings and the Abstract book from Syktyvkar.

The fourth conference will be held at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (western Poland) from 11 to 14 September 2016. The main expected topics are:

1. Ecology, behaviour & physiology
2. Morphological, molecular & cytogenetic diversity
3. Zoogeography & systematics
4. Parasites, diseases, threats & protection

However, the conference will be dedicated to all aspects of shrew biology. The language of the conference will be English.
